On the brink of it all, we couldn’t help but fall because we’re the only ones.
Who feel the weight of the world, so when the whole thing came unfurled it no one else’s fault.
Like the smolder of a gun, what’s done can’t be undone and you just carry on.
Time won’t rearrange, it’ll only make things strange as you move along.
The world keeps spinning around, with the weight of what was then and is now.
No matter what we’d hoped for, it’s just another trip around the sun.
So patiently we wait, and take all that we can take.
And find the strength somehow to face another one.
We had a plan or so it seemed, but all comes between, well that’s the hardest part.
When the game was set, we couldn’t help ourselves and that was just the start.
More choices came, and it was more of just the same, we understood the cost.
When you know the price and that which stand to win sometimes you risk it all.
The world keeps spinning around, with the weight of what was then and is now.
No matter what we’d hoped for, it’s just another trip around the sun.
So patiently we wait, and take all that we can take.
And find the strength somehow to face another one.
I keep dreaming in nervous breakdowns because I can’t break down the way that I feel.
Holding on to dreams that left me, but now seem like the only thing that’s even real.
In spite of it all, maybe they are.
Because the world keeps spinning around.
